Mozilla awards large cash prize to website creating fake “police-related fatal encounters”
Part of a $260,000 prize went to "Future Wake" -- which creates fake people, that were fake killed, by fake police... to incite real violence.
Mozilla, the half-Billion-USD per year mega corporation that (supposedly) makes a web browser, has funded a new project called “Future Wake”.
What is “Future Wake”?
It is a website that uses “Artificial Intelligence” to create information about fake people that it pretends will be “victims of future police-related fatal encounters”.
“Future Wake” received part of a $260,000 prize from Mozilla in order to create these fake “police-related fatal encounters”.
It is a self-described “art project” that appears created for the sole purpose of vilifying police officers for deaths… that didn’t happen. Of people that don’t exist.
You can even watch short clips of these “AI Generated” talking heads talk about how scary police officers are.
Is it extremely creepy? Yes. Yes, it is.
This is being funded through donations made to Mozilla… by people who thought they were supporting an Open Source web browser.
The award from Mozilla was “$260,000 in funding for Black artists who use art to spotlight how AI can reinforce — or disrupt — systems of oppression.”
How much of that quarter million dollars went to “Future Wake” doesn’t appear to be listed. If the prize money was divided equally among the winners, Future Wake’s portion would be $32,500.
What will be the end result of “Future Wake”? I can’t imagine this accomplishing anything positive. It appears purposefully engineered to promote hatred and incite violence against law enforcement.
Which is a wicked weird thing for the maker of a Web Browser to spend money on.
This is just one of oh-so-many strange things that Mozilla has funded over the years. The Mozilla Mega Corporation has been a major force for spreading hate in recent times, and I will continue to highlight and point out their harmful activities.
Will Mozilla read this and talk about it internally?
You bet they will. They always do. And, often, I hear about it.
Heck. They even follow me on Twitter.
Let people know what Mozilla is up to. And let Mozilla know that you do not approve of their fueling of hate, and incitement of violence.
